Best: FDR; his administration brought prosperity to the US after the biggest economic crisis in our history made most Americans poor.

Worst: Richard M. Nixon: He may not have been a crook in his eyes, but when you disregard the Constitutional rights of American Citizens, you have broken the law and are a criminal.

Dumbest: GW Bush: He may be putting up an "Aw, shucks" facade, but the majority of the American public have seen through his veneer and understand that he and his administration are war profiteers, and care little about the service people they control.

I changed my mind; GW Bush is the worst.

I'll speak only for those that have been president during my lifetime..
Best: Ronald Reagan- took a country that was emotionally scarred from Vietnam, economically scarred from 4 years of double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, and double digit unemployment and brought it back. By 1984 it was cool to be PROUD of the USA again. People were working, and the economy was moving in the right direction.

Worst: Jimmy Carter- Virtually destroyed the military singlehandedly. Why worry about the Soviets? Presided over the worst economy since Hoover. Allowed a nation of nutjobs to invade US soveriegn soil, take US citizens hostage, and did a half *ssed attempt at "rescuing" them, instead of demanding a Declaration of WAR from congress.

Is it any wonder the "negotiations" REALLY took off the day after Reagan was announced the winner? The Iranians KNEW a whole truck load of really deep Kimshe was barreling down the turnpike headed straight for THEM.

The best was Washington. He took The U.S. from a concept to a country. He also turned down the offer of becoming king. How many people out there believe Bush would have done the same thing? I think the worst was Carter. During his watch, Russia invaded Afghanistan, which lead to the rise of Osama. He allowed Castro to empty his jails and send them here. We had gas lines that took hours to get a limited amount of gas. And America's self-loathing was higher then it is today.

It's A toss up between FDR and Abe Lincoln for the best.

The worst is probably Jimmy Carter or William Henry Harrison who died about 30 days after taking office.

Jimmy Carter was by far the worst President of my lifetime. He is the creator of the current Middle East terrorism issue. He also had stagflation and presided over the decline of the USA's military.

The only thing he ever did that was worthwhile was the fact that his complete incompetence ushered in the greatest President in modern time Ronald Reagan.

The best was FDR. He was given the most difficult situations; the Great Depression and World War II, and he was THE major force that brought the US out of them. He also led the campaign to raise funds to defeat polio, and a cure was found only a few years after he died.

well Ronald Reagan is in my opinion the best. For the worst, its hard to say, because the first presidents weren't always the best.

Worst....Bush...BY FAR!

Best....George Washington!

Who said Reagan was the best? He got the US and himself convicted in world court for War crimes against Nicaragua! He sold missiles to Iran for Hostages! He was involved in Iran/Contra and did nothing but cut and run when 242 of our Marines were killed in Lebanon by Iran backed Hezbollah!

Reagan is only slightly behind the 2nd worst president and that was Richard Nixon! That is a solid 3rd worst!

Oh, and he was such a nice guy, he fired all the Air Traffic Controllers, lying to them before the election, When he said he was going to decrease their hours, he didn't say to Zero! And get this, he wanted to make Ketchup a vegetable in children's school lunch's!
