It depends upon the condition of the sister and the baby, as well as the character of the witness, and his credibility.
If the witness gives credible testimony, there would be reasonable doubt that your boyfriend committed the crime, and the jury should acquit him.
BTW, how is the baby?

I'm reading between the lines a bit.
Your boyfriend started a loud verbal argument with his pregnant sister, wound up hitting her and possibly injured the unborn baby. She calls the police and he gets arrested.
I suspect the police at least went to see the sister. If she showed any signs of violence on her the police charged your boyfriend.
Is the witness a friend of your boyfriend? Not much credibility there, especially if there is evidence of injury to the sister or fetus.
If the prosecution can link any injuries to your boyfriend, he is toast. As to what will happen to him in the event of a guilty finding; that depends on what the charges are and what kind of record your boyfriend has. This could be anything from Domestic Violence, misdemeanor battery, or a felony battery. The misdemeanor crimes might get him some short jail time or probation. The felony charge could land him in a prison for a number of years.

well, if the police and the child protection agency do their jobs the correct person will get charged. I assume you did not see the incident!
She can't go to court and press charges, at least not in this state. How can she when he was already arrested, and what was he arrested for? Was the child in her arms when the incident happened and has the child protection agency been notified. Police are responsible for that though some may say he is "out of House" it really doesn't matter as he is a relative, and a close one at that!

It all depends is the witness a crackhead? Or are they not really a believeable person? Who has a good lawyer, is there proof her baby is in critical condition, is the baby really injured. There are two sides to every story, maybe he left some out, or she added some, thats why crimes are so hard to do trials for.

Winning a case depends on the weight of evidence presented by either party of the case. In criminal cases, there is a presumption of innocence in favor of the accused, in this case your boyfriend. If his sister is able to overcome this presumption by proof beyond reasonable doubt then your boyfriend is sure to go to jail. Otherwise, he is entitled to an acquittal.

If the witness is believable he will win the case. Also if the baby is not hurt.

It depends on what state you are in, they will pretty much take the word of the woman if she says a man is beating her. For now he's just gotta make bail and find a good lawyer. If he really didn't do anything he will win.

all about money . everything in this country revolves around money , if your boyfriend can afford a lawyer than going off the evidence you stated he will get off , if he has to use a public defender , he will probably plea to a lessor charge do some time get anger management class's and be on probation for a few years

If the witness testifies, he should win. Especially if the baby doesn't have a mark on him.

yeah. of course he will win the case. because unless she has a witness to whatever happened, her lies can't really make a real difference in the eyes of the jury.
