Bon Ami scouring powder, but ONLY that brand. It's made of talc, a very soft mineral that won't scratch glass. That's why they have the newly hatched chick on the label with the slogan, "hasn't scratched yet."

I have found that toothpaste works well. Rinse it off with water after you have scrubbed it with a rag.
