Yes, but you will need a donor car / parts car to get the following from:
Power Steering pump
Accessory bracket from the donor car
Power steering resovoir
Steering rack and all related parts possibly to the hubs
Serpentine belt for the PS equipped car
All the power steering lines
It is a fairly involved process, the parts could be as little as $50 and as much as $3,000 buying all new dealer parts, plus labor.
Why not just sell the car and buy a power steering equipped model. The only way this would be cost effective would be if you have a collectible car, but adding this feature may detract from the car's value.

A lot of small cars have electric power steering now, so as a supplement to the other excellent answers you might need Electric power steering unit £500, upgraded alternator £400, and chances to the wiring system £??. Also you need to make sure that the non PAS model hasn't got something else installed where the PAS components would be fitted

what kind of car? year/make/model
Let's say it a Ford F-150, 1990. why? it's a common truck.
you'll need a power steering pump $100
you'll need a larger belt $45
you'll need 2 hoses, a pressure and return $40
you'll need a steering box (or gear box) $200
you'll need to be able to mount the gear box, so some welding for brackets MIGHT be needed.
You'll need a new pitman arm $70
You'll need a floor jack to lift the gear box, which weighs upwards of 90 pounds. ($150)
you'll need 2 quarts of power steering fluid ($6)
If you're going to drop in a rack & pinion unit instead, you'll need the rack $400
you'll need two outer tie-rod ends $40 each
and timewise.. it can be done in an afternoon, probably 5 hours if you're competent with mechanical things.
IF you have a 4 wheel drive.. add an extra 2 hours, and more money for the gear box.

Depends, if it is an Astra I noticed that my daughters had power steering powered by an electric pump. So this may be the solution. No idea what it will cost as I do not like power steering or any other power accessory.

On most small cars power assisted steering is a bit of a gimmick and with the exception of drivers with a disibility most people don't need it - true power steering is found on large vehicles trucks etc. If the steering on your vehicle is too heavy for you to manage you will be best to change your car as it is too costly to convert

Yes, of course. Dirt cheap. You need to find an otherwise identical car in the junkyard, with power steering. The differences will be obvious. You'll need to get everything that's different.
I wouldn't do it, though. I'd just cherish all that exercise.

Cheaper to buy a new vehicle--the hydralics is powered by a pump--so a pump, belt, pulley. hydralic unit, new front end parts and steering box will be just for starters. Labor is expensive and time consuming
