No, there is only a danger of eye damage when observing a solar eclipse. For the lunar eclipse which occurs tonight, the moon will be eclipsed by the earth's shadow. There is no, and never will be, any danger in staring directly at the moon.

Absolutely nothing will happen if you watch a lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse is when the earth goes between the sun and the moon...which causes the shadow on the moon. It's the solar eclipse that you can't look at directly...that can cause eye damage. So, enjoy the show!! It starts at 2:52am PST and ends at 4:22 PST. :)

Nothing bad. A lunar eclispe will not blind you. No danger there. It's the solar eclipses you have to be careful about.
