like say a cute girl sends a request to be a friend.Do you wait for her to reply and say thanks for the add how are you?... blah blah etc... Or should you accept her and then write her a note back? basically im saying should the acceptor of friends be required to reply first or the person who sent the request since they are the one that want to be friends.

I like to only accept people I know. That way, I know it's not some band, comedian, or porn star just looking to get the most friends.
But if it's someone you're interested in, you can make the first move by sending her a note. If she replies, even better!

I email them first, but I get like three a day that are some hot chick, and I look at the profile and it has a bunch of links to porn site, and the funny thing is they all have story. One will say that she is new to town, or i don't use myspace iuse this or whatever. Back to your question I email them first.

most friend requests are in reality email harvesters. First view their profile. If they talk about other sites or pics seem fake, the person is fake. Dont deny the request, just ignore fake friend requests.

when i get a request, i first go check out their profile. and if i know them, then i add. if i dont know the person i might ask, do i know you? or if it looks like this person is just some myspace whore i just ignore the request...
but if you just want to add the person without knowing them, then write to them saying thanks and asking them a question, or leave them a comment...like hi new friend, or thanks for the request.

I think if someone adds you , you should write a note, saying thanks. then its up to them to make the next contact.
