Get rid of the food sources.

Garbage cans secure, spray for bugs, remove fruits laying on the ground, etc.

My neighbor once used a cleaning product called "Pinesol" to keep possums out of my yard. She said they hate the smell. It worked, I didnt see possums for years after that. Try pouring some Pinesol into some type of bowls or maybe empty soda cans, and leave them around the yard. See if that helps. (I suggested soda cans, cause I would hate to see an animal possible drink this stuff, if left in a bowl) (the smell is so strong, I seriously doubt this would happen)

First, make sure that all cat food dishes are kept inside-- they love that stuff! My only advice on keeping them out of the yard would be to get a dog, and again remove anything which could be a food source to them.

This is extremely tough. They like to be in sheltered areas, like maybe the crawl space of your house. I've read that they hate lous music. If you play music down there for several nights, they will probably go elsewhere.
