Breaking your own water isn't "going in on your own". Furthermore, it's downright dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.
Why are you in such a rush?
Give mother nature a chance, you'll go into labour when your baby is ready. And if you need assistance, leave it to trained professionals. Breaking your own water risks your life and your baby's.

unfortunately there is no way you can break your water without potentially harming you or the baby. You can try and bring on labor by eating spicy foods, Walking around a lot so gravity will start taking it's course, having sex which will stimulate activity down there, and resting can sometimes cause for labor too. Also usually before you are induced when you go to the doctor they will strip your membranes hoping to spark labor naturally too. Stripping the membranes is when they remove the bag of waters from it's attachment to the uterine wall. Usually this is done 2-3 days before the induction occurs. If none of this works then you'll just have to wait for when the baby's ready, and induction isn't the worst thing in the world. You still have a natural delivery usually, the doctors just hook a bag of pitocin to your IV to speed things along.

Oxytocin is a hormone released during female orgasm, and during breast feeding/nipple stimulation, and during labour.
Having sex will not only help to get your muscles down there working, having sex with orgasm(s) will release this hormone, helping the cervix to relax and dialate.
Walking around will increase blow flow and oxygen to all your muscles, which is what contract during labour. Ensuring they are ready to go will only help (light walking only please!) The gravity is also thought to help, as the baby's head puts pressure on the cervix, encouraging things to get going.
I have heard that spicy foods can help... though, do you want a belly full of spices right before your muscles will be doing the cha cha? I'd be careful there.
Most importantly, remember that doctors aren't sure yet exactly what triggers labour. The most popular thought atm is that the baby simply knows when it's time has come, and it will come out when it's good and ready to. Being induced can be difficult, it usually is a longer labour, and other such things. Remember that doctors are here to work for you, they are supposed to work with you, not on you. Tell them your concerns and what you actually want, and ask them what all of your options are, get them to explain in detail if necessary what all the risks and benefits of each option is.

Leave your water alone!!! If you want to try to induce labor naturally check out this website. Maybe something will work for you. Also, I didn't have any indication that I was going into labor...no braxton-hicks, mucus plug, or anything that might tip you off that it was about to happen. I just happened. Remember, if you don't want to be induced...you don't have to be! It is your body and you CAN tell your doctor NO!!! I did. Good Luck.

You can't break your water internally without putting the baby at risk of infection.
If you want the labour to get a move on! Have as much sex as possible. There is a hormone in the male ejaculate that stimulates dilation.
You could also talk to an herbalist. There are a few essential oils they say can promote labour. Not sure which, maybe you could google it.

I don't know about "breaking your water". But I do know all the good classics to induce labor naturally.
~Raspberry Leaf Tea (not just raspberry flavored)
~Walking, walking, walking
~ A1 Sauce and Macaroni N Cheese
~Eggplant Parmesan (You can find a recipe for that on google)
~Sex, and lots of it.
~Bouncing on a birthing ball
~Nipple stimulation (for like 20 min. straight every hour..yeah, I know)
~Visualisation
And of course, I'm sure someone will tell you to try Castor Oil or Mineral Oil. Some women swear by it, but I've heard nothing but horror stories regarding that stuff..so I'd stay away if I were you.
And good luck! I REALLY wouldn't want to be induced either :-S I hope something happens for you.

Don't even try! You could seriously hurt your baby. What's nine more days? I'm right there with ya waiting for my induction. Chances are, you may go into labor on your own. Just wait for your doc or nature-whichever comes first. Don't be stupid.

It doesn't sound sad...it sounds downright stupid! Not only could you damage yourself but you could badly hurt or kill your baby! I can't believe you are actually asking this!

you can't..you have to let nature take it's course. if you break it before your body is ready to deliver, you run the risk of infection.
