There's a reason there are a lot of hunters out there. They are a great class especially for newbies. They do good damage. They can move quickly with Aspect of the Cheetah. And their pets will make dealing with adds easier. Also, hunters aren't overly gear dependent.
I think a hunter is the best World of Warcraft character for leveling. Race isn't nearly as important as class for your enjoyment of the game. It doesn't impact your abilities nearly as much as class does.
Follow the storyline and you should always have an idea of where you need to go next. Enjoy WoW.

... those guys are mean, there's nothing wrong with ally, I've made chars on both ally and horde and I love my Night-Elf warrior, besides, you don't have to take into account the number of other N-E hunters, if that's what you like, just do it. If later on in the game you decide you don't like the char you're not stuck with it! You don't even have to delete it, just create another one(if you really want to use the first char's name then I guess you would have to delete it or make the new char on a different server).
I don't think there's anything you should know about being a NE hunter, it'll all just come to you, just enjoy playing.
Also, the UI is pretty intuitive so I think you'll manage to find what you have to do to become a hunter. You'll have to choose a realm(server) at first so if you have a friend you want to play with ask them what realm they play on so you can choose the same one, otherwise you won't be able to interact with your friend.
Choosing realms: You will find more detailed information on-line; a usefull link on this subject: http://www.wowinsider.com/2006/09/30/wow-rookie-choose-your-realm-wisely/
Good luck and have fun!

First of all Night elves dont have bow skill. They get dodge chance(1%extra dodge chance), shadowmeld(inivisible), and nature resistance. Nightelves start out in Teldrassil and their city is darnassus.
Nightelf hunter is one of the most popular class to be so i would be a dwarf hunter(some people think dwarves are noobs).
If i had to choose proffesion to begin with would be leatherworking and skinning for beginners. If i am a little more familiar with the game i would go for engineering + mining. Engineering is usually hard to level because of the wide viarity of mats(ingredienses). On the other hand, you can create guns and bullets. In higher level i would keep skinning, and mining if i had those. If not i would get herbalism if i had no other. I would unlearn Leatherworking(hunters use mail 40+) and get enchanting to make serious money.
Hope this guide helps.

That's fine. Night Elves make good hunters. I believe Night Elves get a bonus to their bow skills, so a bow is probably your best weapon choice. If you decide to do Dwarf instead, go for guns.
Invest in good bags early, you'll probably sacrifice one bag for a quiver, and need the space of another bag to hold food for your pet. One more bag will probably store your profession things, so you will not have a lot of loot space.
Hunters are masters at soloing, since they can use their pet to pull and tank for them. You should learn how to cook and fish though, to help feed your pet.
As for professions; the only profession I would strongly avoid is Blacksmith. Hunters can only wear leather, so 95% of what Blacksmith makes you either don't need or can't use. Engenerring is nice (espetially if you use a gun) for its add ons to ranged weapons and other fun gidgets. Leatherworking is good because you can create your own armor. Alchemy is nice for potion making.

Don't go hunter, they are the most over played + least useful class late game , minus paladins..
If u want to be able to geta grp no matter what late game..
Go warrior, priest, lock or mage. they are the most useful and indemand classes
AND GO HORDE alliance SUCKS

When you get your pet, keep it on Defensive, so it doesn't accidentally run off and attack and draw all the enemies to you and your friends.
Also warriors will try to give you guff for rolling on melee weapons (swords and such). You technically should give them first pick, but be sure you get your fair share. Good luck!
