strength isnt everything lol. just because someone's strong doesn't necessarily guarantee they're a good fighter (for all you know they throw one hell of a crap punch). skill beats strength. also speed is a huge factor, strength isn't that great when the other person's too quick to hit. finally: words. although any skilled fighter knows to ignore the opponents words, being harsh and really hitting them where it hurts inside can lower their spirits/enthusiasm. or it could, you know, push them into charging in, in which case you can dodge then counter-attack. I wouldn't suggest using weapons, or including friends (unless the opponent has). it only proves cowardice. after all this is your fight, show him how much of a man you are and finish what you started, with only yourself to thank. BE CONFIDENT. no matter how weak you may or may not be, your opponent will not warm kindly to your confidence that you'll win, and may even feel a little intimidated. finally, shout at the top of your lungs the best MOTHER-FU**ING SH** he'll ever hear. scream language that would your mother faint. nothing downplays the spirit of an opponent like acting like a maniac, let him know you're nuts and want to rip his throat out (among other things). anyway, I'm sure you get the idea, dont be intimidated by mere strength, ooze confidence, and play on your advantages and his disadvantages. finally, dont hit him in the nuts because that just proves cowardice, and lol if you hit (or miss for that matter) he's gonna be REALLY pissed and probably be more determined to end you. ah well, good luck fighting, and make sure you have a good reason for doing so!

The 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle" between Muhammed Ali and George Foreman is a classic example of a fighter defeating a larger, more powerful man. The fight is available on video.

Well, I'd hope you wouldn't want to follow through with this, as it would get you sent to jail and/or prison. Beating people up is a crime until or unless they attack you first, ok? And even then, some states and cities are *strict* about the legal idea of "duty to flee", meaning yes, you *do* have to make a reasonable attempt to run away and *escape* or *avoid* the situation.

Having said all that:

--Weapons are a useful thing. And this doesn't *have to* be a gun. Consider that the other person is already most likely bigger or stronger than you are. So to a limited degree you would be justified in raking his face with a handful of keys, or in emptying a pocket canister of pepper spray into his face...or even in shining a *bright* flashlight (search the phrase "combat flashlights") into his eyes.

Just remember, the idea is not to punish....the idea is to do what needs doing and *get out* of the situation.

--Having friends around is good. If you aren't alone, it will be *less* likely that your muscle-head enemy will attack you. Less likely that is...some people are just freakishly good at intimidating others, and sometimes you end up surrounding yourself with friends who are *too* pacifist or clueless for their own good.

But in general, it helps to have more than one friend at your side in these matters, as the numbers game gets harder to overcome once the situation goes past 3-on-1. Just be sure everyone is on your side and *willing* to join in. (search the phrases: "boot party" and "dogpile" in the context of "fighting" or "self-defense")

--If you are really concerned....having a big dog is a good thing. But the catch is, this sort of answer takes some time, since most bigger and *meaner* breeds of dogs are territorial, "one owner" types. Meaning you will have to raise the dog from puppyhood to really get it to *defend you*.

And it would help most if you had someone *train it* to defend you in specific, controlled ways. This way, both you and the dog will get used to the idea: it's not a pet, it's your bodyguard.

--Personally though...I'd look into ways to "beat up" the other guy that *don't* involve strength or fighting. Meaning....get a cell-phone, with a camera, and whenever possible, discreetly *take pictures*. Catch him in the act of doing something stupid, and *blackmail away*. Take the fight to him on a level where he *is not* strong, in other words. Advantage: this is *less* likely to get you beat up or arrested.

--But...if worst comes to worse. And it's just you and him, one-on-one, hand-to-hand....

1) Wear heavy boots, preferably with steel toes, preferably all the time. Learn how to fire off quick kicks and to let the weight of your boot *bang his shins and ankles* nice and low.

2) Learn to cover up. Both arms should be up in front of you, covering your face and protecting your head, face and throat. Your *wrists* need to be at eye level, elbows out.

3) If you *have to* punch, remember, the thumb goes on the *outside* of your fist, tucked against the index (point-n-click) finger. Aim for the *middle* of his body, slightly above the waist- or belt-line, but below the collar of his shirt, below the armpits...

The idea is to aim at the largest target possible so you don't miss...and to aim at something softer than his skull so you don't hurt yourself hitting him. If you do this right you *should* be hitting him in the stomach or at the bottom of his ribcage. Either of these is good. Just don't get carried away....hit and then immediately go back to covering up.

4) Whatever it is you decide to do....you need to actually get in touch with people and *do it*. Train. Practice, with partners. Some martial arts schools do this right, but *Many* do not. You might be better off training some of this in a self-defense class at your local community college or school.

I hope this helps....and I hope you *reconsider* your desire to hurt someone. I don't want to see you going to jail. Or getting hurt.

Thanks for your time. ^_^

By using external assistance other than your own human strength.

I don't recommend doing so unless you are legally defending your self.
