i choose the one that has given me an informative answer and something that i can apply for myself.
if it's a poll question and i got similar answers, i sometimes give the 10 points to a non-top contributor to help them gain more points

*it's always the asker's choice who to choose as the best answer but we must consider the effort of the other answerers who researched and made an effort just to give good answers. let's be fair

Very irritating!!!!!!!!!! specific, it occurred to me a 12 months in the past with a former Yahoo identity. question: "Which comes first: rooster or egg?" My answer: "rooster (alphabetical order!)" yet another answerer used my comparable answer once I submitted it. His grew to become into chosen perfect answer. grew to become out to be a team of two persons who had a sprint pastime going the place she could pose a query; he could answer; and no be counted how inane (or insane) the respond, his could be chosen for the ten factors. An occasion -- she asked the question: "Who invented the 24 hour day?" He responded "Rolex proprietor", and he or she chosen that as perfect answer.

It is none of my business if they are friends and/or trading points. You anyway decide on which questions to answer or skip. I see alot of these, but I do not allow these things to bother me.

I choose the Best Answer if it is a witty answer. i do not even care so much if it is the "most correct" because if I just needed a correct answer, I won't ask at YA but go straight to google or the encyclopedia or almanac or something.

I suggest you learn to derive information and FUN from this site.

I choose best answer on the basis of what excites all my senses the most. What can I say? I am a very sensual person. Besides, I ask questions not really to get information but to tickle and to tingle everyone's imagination and get those creative juices flowing.

Re: felicity & me. We both have asked tons of questions here at Y!A and I assure you, the BAs we have given each other is but a miniscule percentage of what we would have "traded" if not for our deep concern for delicadeza. You see, this thing between us is just too much to keep under wraps sometimes. And we just don't know how the YAP community would accept our "relationship" . But now that you have brought it out in the open, I guess there's no use denying it. Sowee, hon, why fight it? It's bigger than the both of us.

Have a good laugh everyone!

9 out of 10 i would put it to a vote.

but about 1/10th of the time i get to choose one that have really stood out up & above the rest.

i do not have any friends in here, & that is not really my intention but i do have exchanged pleasantries with a few yappers. if i do make some friends here that would be a plus & a blessing. but that wouldnt change things.

so choosing the best answer because the answerer is a friend or someone i knew would not really factor in.

but as far as i know, trading points, points playing or whatever else its called & several other schemes to amass massive amounts of points is not allowed & i am a law-abiding citizen.

if you notice somebody here that chooses best answers only among their circle of friends & normally selects answers that are totally irrelevant to the question but because of some personal preference, do not be surprised, that is their prerogative.

but if you see someone doing something not allowed, you can always report them. peace!

So, why is this question still here?

I'm hungry! I need hamburger! Where's PT? Where's beef stroganoff? I am really VERY VERY VERY HUNGGRY!!!

If this JUST-ASKIN wont shut up I'll EAT HIM!!!

EDIT: In the interest of self-preservation, I have to answer the question: I answer with my heart, because the heart has reasons of its own. Sorry, but my hunger got the better of me.

And I really think you are breaking the rules of chivalry! Placing damsels in distress. Not just one, but two of the pillars of this community. Shame on you, sir! Be thankful I had SR1 riyal left to go out and eat kubuz, otherwise....

I choose the best answer if it really helped me regarding with my question. Second, the veracity of his answer and at the same time if he or she cites credible sources.

I give the best answer to the best answer. I shall be the judge of what is "best”. As questioner, I alone shall determine whether any answer is relevant to my question or not - certainly not you. If you cannot accept that, do not answer my question.

Now that you’re the questioner, you have the opportunity to choose what you think is the best answer. I would not deny you of your prerogative, in the same manner that you should not deny me of mine. Or others, of theirs.

If I ask a question. I give the 10 points to the answerer that I like best without any special favors or intentions behind the cause.
It does seem as if there is special activities going on with a secret society in the Yahoo answers/ Philippines.

As for me, I like to answer and ask questions in this section.
I do this on my own pace. I am not working toward anything.
Some people have a strong need for approval, acceptance and recognition because maybe they never had it before. After all, we are all sitting in front of a computer not knowing who we are socializing with.
I enjoy the Philippines section. I think its fun with a learning experience.

I usually pick the best answer on the basis of which answer made me think twice, or which one made me laugh. It could also be on which was was informative, or the answer that was obviously well thought-out.
As for the link you provided, it was her question, so it's her priviledge to pick which answer she considered as most informative.

That is a very good observation. I never pay attention to the Best Answer choice if I was not selected, so I wouldn't notice anything like this.

As for me, if I am happy with the answer, I pick it. If I am not particularly happy with the replies, I don't pick and it goes to voting. One time I just forgot to pick and my question has expired and was already on voting, I felt bad but all I cloud do was vote for my choice as best answer. So bad it was just one vote and the Best Answer by voting was not even my choice. Well....
