Actually, it's a common and normal childhood fantasy. Babies have it easy, all they have to do is scream and people do things for them. As a child grows older, this becomes no longer the case.
7 is considered the age of reason, and it's then that children start to realize how powerless they are, unless their parents are indulging their every whim--all too often the case. The result is revenge fantasies which include the whole world.
Fortunately, most kids grow out of it. The ones who don't become Republicans.
Teach perspective by showing the child the bigger picture. Teach Reason with Reason and teach respect by showing the Child Respect. Teach restraint by clearly defining limits and enforcing them. Punishment need not be extreme or even physical, but it does have to be consistent and inevitable.
The only worthwhile thing about humans is that we can grow and learn. Make learning the greatest Love in your child's life and he or she will turn out okay.

These are the signs of a very serious mental illnes. Psyogically, there is a stage in the mind where one realizes that life must end, but to take it such extent is dangerous. Specially coming from an 8 yr. old, such thoughts may later lead on to drug abuse, and even suicide. This child needs helpl fast, some quick home tips, show this child the good of the world, love, peace, adn friendshhip. This is like the 5th element, the movie. At the end, she realizes that a world filled th war and hatred shouldn't be saved, but you have to show this child that love and peace can counter all the evil in the world. And that for everyone bad thing, there is also a good.
SEEK HELP, FAST!!!

In my opinion the simplest answer to this question is to teach this child or grownup that all human beings have value and validation by the mere fact that they exist as thinking, reasoning self- aware beings.
When a person understands that all true & lasting happiness, peace balance, value and validation is found within the self and Not from other people, places or things outside the self then and only then can the negative views, emotions and feelings you have described here begin to subside.
One concept that this child and or grown-up (any person for that matter) can begin to apply in daily life to help is to live by the golden rule: Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You;
or in modern terms: treat other people the way you would have them treat you.
This simple law can have a positive transforming effect in a person's life if a concerted effort is made to apply it daily in all situations.
Do Unto Others and Be Happier
good luck :-)

This is a horrible scenario. A child who wishes death on humanity is really in bad shape. I would fear for them and get counseling for them at once.
