i want to know what type of processor i should buy for my new computer.

Good (especially the new GO stepping) if you do heavy multi-tasking, multi-threaded apps and symmetric multi-processing. Otherwise, the fast Core2 Duo dual cores should be enough for many applications including gaming.

Also BEST for bragging rights.

Intel QX6850 is 25% faster than the Q6600! It is a Core 2 Extreme.

Depends on what you are planning on doing with it. In order to really know its full potential benchmark tests would need to be done on your system. But then what does it really matter. By 2010 high end telecommunications processors will have a thousand cores or so they say.

ok look i am not going to lie 2 you it is the fastest but u got to mark sure u motherboard can hold it and there no ponit of wasting all that money just put 4gb of ram and u should have a intel core due quad

If you want a quad processor, look for the Xeon quads that are already out.

Anyway, 4 cores is better than 2 :P
