What? Men don't stand by the stove often,so what's the deal? They should be able to wear a watch if they want. Clock on the stove or not.

The clock on my stove doesn't work. And I don't wear a watch. By the way, what time is it?

Because I need to sneak a time check when the stove is not working - the way I want it to work!

Who wants to lug the stove everywhere just to get the time? It's much easier just to have a watch than is is to be disconnecting all those gas lines & such... plus all of the dirty pots that are on top of it from dinner. PIA.

You can't read the one on the stove so we look at our watch and tell you what time it is.

"Allowed" to wear watches? Are you implying that everyday decisions of a 'personal choice' nature should be controlled for them?
Just as you presumably don't want to be subjugated to a man, you should likewise not try to control others.
