Have Americans lost touch with reality?

Reality for most people is based on a complex web of lies/untruths; a matrix if you will.

For those of us that took the red pill we know that George Washington wasn't really the first president and Jesus probably wasn't really named Jesus. Those people that took the blue pill think Saddam Hussien was a terrorist.

The fact is Americans are surrounded by lies. Commercials lie, newspaper lie, and so do our textbooks. People even lie to eachother solely to avoid another person's feelings. Everybody accepts this as normal.

Has all this lying warped our reality?

Americans are clutching to the time worn planks of the Mayflower.... shame really, a land with lots of potential with a madman at the helm... note the nautical theme .. USA is a sinking ship.. glug glug glug.

I like when I lie to the point that I start believing the lie. Anyway, I think rhetoric is the guilty party here -- its so much more involved and complex than a blatant lie.

I think rhetoric has warped the perception of reality.

I definitely think that Americans who rely on U.S. media sources, history books, etc.. are out of touch with reality. We've been conditioned to believe that anything happening outside of out little world isn't really important, and that's why we find people obsessed with the goings on of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan instead of the atrocities in Darfur, or the "war" in Iraq.

i think of that extra persons are speaking approximately celebrities and different issues as a scapegoat of what is going on for the duration of this international. they don't desire to stand what crappy day they are having whilst they are able to speak approximately somebody who's on front of a mag pantiles, and falling over. yet sure many are overly obesessed with paris hence the actuality she is mythical for not doing not something , whilst there are a ton of non celebrities who're assisting ppl international huge on a daily foundation yet doesnt even get observed or what they are engaged on gets a 2 2nd spill on the information reason they desire to speak approximately britney's new fragrance or somebody who's mythical is on the city. If we centred extra on what is going on interior the real international i think of there ought to be alot extra progression in making it a reasonably extra advantageous place

I think so. For as far back as when we arrived... we have been fed a bunch of negative misinformation about our culture. I am referring to Blacks. It was twisted then and it still is. We need to unlearn what society dictates as being correct when it comes to the Black community. In the words of Marcus Garvey...
" We have outgrown slavery but our minds are enslaved to the thinking of the master races. Now, take the kinks out of your mind, instead of your head. This says it all to me being the pro Black, well informed woman that I am.
As far as the media... we know it is all fake, phoney, and fraudulent. I refuse to believe half the garbage I am told on the tv. Look who's reporting it. ( Why Ed Bradley... Why?)
All I can say is learn your Black history. Most of what is in the textbooks is historically incorrect and can be proven. Many people are in denial about this. Look at the situation in Jena, La. and you will see the cause and effect of racism full blown. Why do we give our power away? Others can only do to us what we allow them to do. Like brother Bob Marley said... free your mind from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds. Y'all share that.
And as for red pill, blue pill, and all that other stuff... I have a response to that...... What?
