Currently, my favorite restaurant is a little place called Trattoria La Siciliana in Berkeley, California, USA.
The place is a little larger than a hole in the wall. It has maybe 12 tables downstairs and 10 more upstairs. The largest tables will accommodate four guests reasonably comfortably. If there are five in your party, they just add a chair on the end. Six or more and they'll put two tables together. But you better not linger!
The working part of the kitchen is about eight feet wide and has just enough room for two cooks to run into each other. And the food that they put out is magnificent!
Perfectly cooked pastas, risottos, as well as meats and seafood. The right amounts of garlic so you can taste it without being overwhelmed. The special menu changes daily and some items aren't even on the menu. If you're lucky, they'll tell you when something special that's been cooking for hours is done and they'll serve it until it's gone!
La Siciliana is noisy, crowded, rambunctious, and a whole lot of fun. Service can be slow but what do you expect with the tiny kitchen and food for upstairs has to be carried UP the stairs. There aren't many restaurants around that will tell all the guests the name of a birthday guest and then shut off the lights so everyone can sing and they can present the b'day dessert.
This restaurant knocked out my previous favorite, Tojo's of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, primarily because I live only 20 miles from Berkeley as opposed to several hundred miles to Vancouver. However, Tojo's is recognized as one of the best Japanese restaurants in Canada.

My current favorite is a little local place, the Freeport Inn. I like it because the food is great, the place is small and cozy. In the summer you can eat on the patio and you can hear live music from down the street. In the winter, you can eat inside and sit near the fireplace. Plus, I like the idea that we are supporting a local small business, instead of some big chain restaurant.

I love all food. My favorite resturant I guess would have to be this place that used to be in Shepherd Tx. It was called The Grill. They had baked potatoes, and steaks, and the best burgers anywhere... their prices were great, and on Fridays they had All You Can Eat Catfish... they were the best resturant within a 30 mile radius. They shut down because his wife was pregnant. It was a family thing. The man, his wife, and their daughter, with a few other waitresses. The Wife ran the front, and he could find any help to replace her.
They had some awesome food, great atmosphere, and the service was incredible. I miss them...

El Vaquero's Mexican restaurant. This place is fast and delicious! Plus, they serve free chips and salsa and it's not greasy chips and runny salsa.
The chips are perfectly cooked and the salsa is spicy with a great consistency!
The meals are fairly priced and they will fill you up without making you uncomfortalby full!
All of the food is delicious, so go for the daily special and you can't go wrong!

If you love Tex-Mex and find yourself in the London area... Try the Texas Embassy Cantina, located just off of Trafulgar Square.
They had THE BEST FOOD I ever ate while vacationing in the UK!
Sorry to any Brits in here... But, Brittish food leaves a lot to be desired!
