Most folks I have talked to about this have a *bad* habit of thinking that "getting a life" is basically the polite way to say "getting a Job". -_- But in general, the idea is, if you "have a life", this means you have "things to do" supposedly, meaning you aren't "wasting time" doing things *you* want to do, because you have things you *have to* do.

But of course....this is other people. ^_^ Thank goodness.

My take on it is simpler. If you are doing what you want to do, and still able to take proper care of your own needs....you "have a life". This may mean you have a full-time job, but maybe not, if you can make do with less money, by all means feel free. The important things are:

--You don't go begging. Maybe your self-sufficiency isn't perfect or all there, but you *do* have income and *do* budget it so that most of the time, your mouth gets fed and bills get paid.

--You still manage to have something left to do what you *want* to do in life, not just what you *need* to do, or what other people *demand* of you. -_- I'm still stuck somewhat on this one....just in terms of being *able* to get my resources up (money and emotional).

But yeah....it's simple enough. Unless you have a mood disorder or three like I do, and people want to be *jerks* about whether or not they *want* you to get treatment, as they do with me. Life would be so much better if I could just maintain steady a) meds, b) counseling, *AND* also c) some manner of work, all at the *same freaking time*.

Is that so much to ask for? Is that being too demanding? Geez. -_-

Oh well, what can you do, life gets mean and unfair sometimes. Email me and/or read some of the more involved Best Answers in my Profile here if you'd like to know more.

Thanks for your time! ^_^

society is screwed up, having a life to most individuals is having some type of "social" life thats all their saying. when in fact you live your own life however you want and thats YOUR life. therefore you already have a life. "get a life" is used as a put down to some people. is a crazy world.

You pretty much don't just sit on your @$$ all day and do nothing with your life. You have friends, somewhat good grades, and you live your life for every moment.
