I stayed in my home during Katrina and afterward, I live in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area...the actual brunt of the storm was here...my community has suffered much hardship and will never be the same...outsiders with money have rushed in to buy up beach real estate and build condos, casinos thrive while many cannot afford to repair damaged homes, progress moves at a snail's pace...the haves have recovered nicely and the have nots are much worse off than before the storm...rent has doubled, gas and food tripled in price...my family is barely making it while do-gooders flood the area with their non-profit rackets and expect people to receive them with open arms...well we expect what little we have left to be taken from us and do not welcome someone who is here to 'save' us while really advancing their own career in the non-profit world...but we will survive through sheer will power...personally I refuse to be beaten by it all...

I think "Belil" tells some of the story, they're still looking for answers to "what happen to 129 million in aid, who's pockets did it go into?" where are 65% of the people who left? where are the people of many homes that weren't touched by the storm? whole neighbor hoods that weren't touched are still empty, where are the people.?

We've sent and collected for church groups, to go down there to help, only to find the contacts aren't there, no arraingments were made, no place to stay, nothing to eat, no one to give directions. The second planned group failed along with the third so, we dropped it all.

To many questions, not enough answers.

Here in Texas we're experiencing the after effects of Katrina.

All the lowlife deadbeats who managed to escape have spilled over into Texas.

The crap-holes they lived in were destroyed so now they're doing their crimes here. Not only that Texas is now supposed to feed their kids, clothe them & find housing & schools for them.

The FEMA cards come in handy for these ingrates when they want to buy alcohol or drugs.

Beyond the obvious direct results, all Americans are still feeling the effects of Katrina. We all got to see firsthand how our government failed to help its own people.
