No offense, but "Fisher" and "Trapper" just sound silly. Besides, if you name him "Trapper", everybody currently over the age of 35 is invariably going to make a M*A*S*H reference.
Rather than go with trendy or "cool" names, try looking back into your families' histories for a couple of strong names, one from each side. You can honor favorite relatives and still have that "manly" sounding name you want for your child.

Michael was #1 for 40 years or so, help us get it back on the top of the list. Fisher sounds more like a last name and Trapper was a nickname on MASH. What are their nicknames supposed to be Hun, Hunt, Fish, Trap, Tray??

Fisher is way better that Trapper. What about a name like Deklan??? Of course, you could change the spelling.

hunter.... and fisher? or hunter and trapper? tell him "thanks sweetie, but i just don't think he looks like a trapper" it is really stupid, but you always have to think of what other kids will make fun of. i've been called Mother Theresa my entire life, and i've always hated it. kids will make fun of brothers named hunter and trapper. the names on their own are ok, but not if they're together. i like Argo, Connor, Achilles, Demitri, Ekon, Gavin, Gerek, James, Ian, Dominic, George, and Michael. they're all really strong sounding names, but they're not the kind of name where his kindergarten class will have Argo C, Argo M, and Argo J (in my class we had 3 chelsies and we called them chels-E-A, chels-I-E, and chels-E-Y because they were thankfully all spelled differently)
