What are some good ones that are about 20-50 episodes long and are japanese with english subs.?

Midori No Hibi (or Midori Days): I was skeptical of this when I read the summary, but it was surprisingly entertaining and a sweet anime---although the manga is way better :) You should try to check out both versions! (dubbed) Full Metal Panic--action, comedy, romance, school life--it has many different genres and it's a good series, pretty popular too. (dubbed) Boys Over Flowers--the art can be a turn off at first, but it's a must for shoujo manga.(dubbed) Pretear (dubbed) Ayashi No Ceres (dubbed) Karin (dubbed) Ranma 1/2 (dubbed) And, I don't know if you read mangas or not, but I definitely think you should read Love So Life because it's a really sweet story and although it hasn't finished yet, the current chapters are still entertaining/heartwarming in themselves---it's one of the sweetest stories, in my opinion.

Pandalinn's suggestions are all solid, but if you really liked Chobits, may I suggest DearS? It is pretty much the same thing as Chobits except replace robots with aliens. It may be a little too short for your tastes though (12 episodes) http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=63
Seto no Hanayome is another recommendation I would make. It is currently airing and is a hilarious story of a guy who falls in love with a mermaid, whose family also happens to be the head of a yakuza (mob). i say lovely complex its just really good....read the manga and watch the anime...you'll like it for sure.....

Watch Fruits Basket!!!! (FURUBA is the shortened Japanese Nickname for it) By far one of the funniest, awkward, call your girlfriends and sit infront of the box crying type anime I've ever watched!
Then I reccommend Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle if you liked chobits. (Series 1 - Japanese is complete... Series 2 is in the making),
Basically anything by CLAMP should float your romantic Comedy Boat. ^_^

Boys Over Flowers is a great romantic anime that has both comedy and drama in it. Oh, and GREAT characters you will come to really love! I think you will enjoy it! It has 51 episodes.

To be honest there can only be one.which is Fruits Basket is adorable full of surprises funny. Theres alot of characters in which make you laugh in certain ways. I really recommend it...its just adorable! They have some cute anime guys and girls!♥

inuyasha and fruits basket.theyre both funny and romantic
fruits basket is good if you like fantasy romance and comedy.
inuyasha on the other hand is a bit more hardcore. it has fantasy violence war and politics.
fruits basket is pure while inuyasha is rough. inuyasha is good though. im in love with that show!!!!!!!! XD
