Things to do in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg TN?

my husband and I are going to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area on Labor Day Weekend. we have a $200.00 budget for attractions, any ideas? we are up for just about anything, but we do NOT plan on going to Dollywood. any suggestions?

the 200 budget is for things to do ONLY. not food =)

Wow there is a ton of stuff to do in that area. Question for you please tell me that your attraction budget is $200. If you have to get food and attractions out of that it might be tough. I would stop by the visitors center they usually have coupon books for money to most of the major attractions, sometimes they even have dinning coupons. I always do this when I go somewhere on vacation it can save so much cash! Here are some ideas for fun:

If you love "the Dukes of Hazzard" (and Americans of all ages do!), you will love a visit to Cooter's Garage. We had a great time here, guess it is what you make of it but, it was something different.

GATLINBURG AERIAL TRAMWAY

You get the best views of the area riding the tramway, it seats like 100 people and takes you up into the smokey mountains. We really enjoyed it.

Different from the tram, the tram is inclosed these are like ski lifts, very fun not for you if you scare easily. Still they are a lot of fun and you get some great views and pictures.

GHOST HAUNTS TOURS

I take a ghost tour everywhere I go! This was a great tour company, we had a lot of fun on our walking tour. They also offer a riding tour if that is more your thing.

HAUNTINGS - A LIVE GHOST SHOW

AWESOME!!! This is a show not a tour, but it is a ton of fun. Not to scary but enought to make you snuggle with your honey.

HOLLYWOOD STAR CARS MUSEUM

This place was cool they have a ton of cars that were used in movies and TV shows. Very interesting and different.

MYSTERIOUS MANSION OF GATLINBURG

Kinda like the live Hauntings Ghost Show. This one was OKAY not very scary at all.

You can spend a lot of time at the aquarium not matter how old you are. They have sharks, they have turtles, they have all kinds of things! It was a lot of fun and I really reccomend it!

FREE wine tasting can't go wrong with that. You can take a tour of the winery, buy a bottle, sit and take in the beautiful views! Nice Place.

THE SALT AND PEPPER SHAKER MUSEUM

This place was cute and different not something I would normally do but, hey we were on vacation. Killed some time and really was fun they have more Salt and Pepper shakers than I can count, all shapes and sizes. Kinda took you back to your childhood.

Very cool they have a ton of life size dinosaurs. Very interesting, I really haven't seen anything like this.

Okay so it is not Graceland but, if you love the king you should go. This is a private collection and with self guided tours. We had a lot of fun and they do have some cool stuff!

JURASSIC JUNGLE BOAT RIDE

Indoor speacil effects ride. This was really cool! The only place I have done something like this was at Disney! Again fun for all ages, they have caves, waterfalls and dino's!

LOVE THIS PLACE! You really get to hunt for your own jewels! We had so much fun doing this, and yes all of us did find some type of Gem. Cheap and a great time! you should check them out.

Of course if you all want to play mini golf or race go carts there are tons of places around to do that!

I even have stayed on the inn 8 stated above and this is astounding. Use the trolley to get around..this is way less costly, takes you throughout and you don;t would desire to combat for a parking place. There are super Haunted properties, a Ripley's Museum, small shops and massive little shops to circulate to in Gatlinburg. circulate to The happy Friar, that's a Donut save that has innovations-blowing fried candies. There are additionally Saltwater taffy places that are cool to stand on the window and watch them pull the taffy.. you could take the tram as much as Ober Gatlinburg. there's a skating rink, shops, ski lifts and a toboggin run made up of cement(amazing experience) you're actually not too some distance from Cherokee Indian Village and that they have each and every sort of issues you're able to do there. In Pigeon Forge, there are outlet shops, mini golfing classes, and a brilliant eating place stated as The Apple Barn. in case you circulate into the mountains, look ahead to the bears...they'll in basic terms walk acceptable out of the trees and into your direction. in case you circulate between the middle of Sept and center of October, the changing of the leaves are amazing. yet another good theory for a place to stay is a Cabin condominium. they have super off season costs and are in super places all around the mountain. have enjoyable!!!

The Haunted Mansion was good! Not too scary, but just scary enough. Our 7 yo loved it!
