Begin with an action scene where the main character is introduced. Then flash back to continue the intro and fill out the character. Return to the story and fill out the story. Take the story to its climax and end with a either a to be continued or finial end.

You start with a nice pleasant scene. Things are at ground level. Then there is a conflict introduced and the story starts to rise as the characters attempt to detetrmine how to resolve the conflict. The climax is when they do resolve it. Then it levels back off to a nice conclusion.

Think of it as a rainbow. Draw yourself a rainbow - called a story arc and mark off your steps along the arch - with the climax being the highest point.

Of course, along the way, you need some backstories and subplots to keep things interesting. They should weave in and out of your main plot which is the spine of your story. Pax - C
