hi, do you mean down town or up town? Gig Harbor is being built up, it is losing its trees fast. theveiw of the water is blocked by houses and business. it has steep hills down to the water. the town boast Fred Myers, QFC, and Safeway and a market store, It has Mc D', KFC, Dairy Queen, subway, blimpies and a few other 'hometown' restaurants. i loved Gig Harbor before the logging and building, truth be known many older longtime residents are moving out because of this problem. their is also a three dollar bridge toll to think about when wanting to go into Tacoma. the people are a bit stuck up, but hey you find what you look for! now this is just The town, there are many close surrounding areas, some think to be part of Gig Harbor, in fact they are not! enjoy!

Gig Harbor is a very nice area.... lots of rich people... some say they tend to be very snoody... but there may not be much for play there.... they are developing more.... but as for play your best bet is to go and do something along the water.... or head on over to tacoma about 10 mins away.... But to live Gig Harbor is a great place to live.... low key.... if you like to live in wooded areas, and have peace and quite.... it's a good place.
