The Korean War was raging. People were dying. Families were being torn apart. Eisenhower set out to look for a cure. By threatening to use nuclear weapons he obtained a truce in Korea, ending the Korean war and easing tensions in the U.S.. The cease-fire signed by the president had brought armed peace along the border of South Korea. President Eisenhower worked for the common good of all. His devotion to the community had many benifits. He concentrated on maintaining worl peace and devoloped an "atoms for peace" program. He watched in pleasure as his creation took its course. He pointed out "America today the strongest, most influential and most productive nation in the world".
