Before there were Ouija boards in America there were talking boards. These could be used to contact the spirit world by anybody in the privacy of one's own home; no séance was required and no medium need be present (or paid!). No experience necessary! No waiting! Quick results, guaranteed!

Anyway, No. Quite frankly, I find ouiji boards only useful as a joke centerpoint. That's all they are, a joke. Ever notice how when the "spirits" are trying to contact you, they spell just as poorly as whichever friend is fiddling with it? hmmmm.... coincidence or no?
While they do make a good tool when you're bored, the whole, "Oh, would you look at that, your dear departed Aunt Muriel wants you to give my $5 so she won't have to come and leave the freezer door open at night and haunt you." They are just otherwise ludicrous. (**and if you are Christian, are technically considered sinful, but that's a WHOLE other topic.**)

As a matter of fact I have... when I was younger my cousins and I found one at my grandmas house. We tried it and it worked we all swore to each other that no one was making it move on purpose. I ended up taking it home and used it with friends. All the sudden the worst luck started to plague my family. My dad swore it was because of that board and he got rid of it. And everything got better and stayed that way. In fact I think now that I've been reminded of this I will ask him what he did with it. You know the old legend is that you can't destroy them.

Years ago a friend and I were fooling around with a board one night. Eventually we started "talking" to some kid from Europe who apparently had been murdered. We started asking "Him" how he died. Eventually he pointed out the letters C-U-T. We started freaking and yelling at each other to stop playing around; obviously we thought the other was doing it.
Given that we were all alone, in the dark and we were fifteen, I'd say it didn't take much to spook us!

YEAH! I knew three people who were playing with a Ouija board one night at this retreat, and then they all jumped into this lake and drowned, all screaming! NO LIES! I believe they were Posessed by demons or evil spirits. Needless to say, the trip was over, and we all had to go home, and the police came.

I was at a party and some one brought a OUIJA board. We started messing around with it and all of the sudden my friends cat jumped on it and started hissing. Normally its a really mellow cat. We about had a heart attack and no one wanted to mess with it anymore.

you should stay away from ouiji boards, some of the spirits there are very bad!!!
