Yes, and often I forget what the reminders were meant to remind me of. Those who know to live in the present do not need reminders.... they only need escapades!!

Hi,
Reminders of what to do in a busy day/week ahead: all the time. If I don't make lists I might forget something or let someone down and I'd hate to do that. Every Monday I start off with a new list of things to do, bringing forward anything left over from last week, adding what's urgent this week. I work to deadlines and I'm working sometimes on a dozen different jobs at a time, then I've got meetings etc for work I'm doing for the community so it's the only way to keep on top of it all.
Reminders of the past, of what once was, of people I love who aren't with me at the moment. I used to surround myself with a lot of these but now I realise it's all in my head anyway, the tangible reminders aren't needed. What's important is what's in my heart, my head, my memory. It's still nice to have one or two bits and pieces however lying around. And I'm currently wearing a piece of jewellery that keeps me close to my son whose in a dangerous place right now; I need to be near him in spirit until he comes home.

I surround myself, (where I live), with more things than you could imagine. But I don't think they're reminders--I've gotten so used to them, that sometimes I have to look twice & think, hm, where did this "come" from? I did that just the other day & realized that about 95% of my surroundings have memories of friends, & it seems that somewhere in my unconscious, just having them here makes me feel enriched--even if I'm not thinking of the person with whom I would associate them. They have an energy, presense of their own. I also have some beautiful things I got at auctions, from centuries ago. I like to touch these, & close my eyes--to get the essence of all the hands that touched them before, & all the lives they have been in. This evolves into an altered state of consciousness that I haven't time to enjoy as much as I'd like.
(I hope you didn't mean reminders like To Do lists? Or I've really been off on a tangent!)

Yes, some. I put appointments on the calendar days they are due and I keep a grocery list all week long for Saturday's trip to the grocery. If I need to do a few things one day during the week, I make a list of where I'm going and what I'm going to do. I didn't realize just how much I do remind myself of things until I actually wrote this out! I'm getting old and forgetful! lol

Only of positive things. If I can associate an item with a terrible memory, I am compelled to get rid of it. My OCD helps with that. I also trust in my mind's abilities to recall, so I keep very little about, and on purpose.
But my local paper is called The Reminder, and I have like 2 on my coffee table.
So....Yes?

I didn't get what type of reminders you meant. But yes. I have pics of my father, who passed last year on my wall, I have like 20 photo albums filled with my past stuff. That way I can look back every now and then and remember that day just like it was yesterday. I think everybody should keep something to remember where they have been and who they have been around.

Did you ever see the sticky note scene in "Bruce Almighty"? That could be my refrigerator. I think I'm the sticky note queen when it comes to reminding myself of things to be done and appointments. No, I do not have a palm pilot or blackberry, nor do i want one. I'm happy with the ole pen and paper routine--and I can recycle those!

I surround myself with reminders that could remind me something pleasant, otherwise they belong to the garbage. Since I have to deal with unpleasant, uninvited memories from time to time, I would not appreciate the help : )

As for daily reminders...yeah..we have a white board on the wall...and it helps keep track of all the goings on in our daily lives. It helped stop a lot of schedualling problems too!...Teenagers! they lead such busy lives!
That reminds me.....Graduation soon....FREEDOM!
LOL...just kidding
