You can watch a lunar eclipse with no damage to the eyes. I saw the one back in March and it was so amazingly beautiful. Solar eclipse is something different, yes, it can damage the eyes.

Only a solar eclipse can damage your eyesight. A lunar eclipse is safe to watch without any eye protection at all because you are seeing the earth's shadow move across the face of the moon (i.e. no direct sunlight).
