I know that one of the guys from the Sex Pistols was later in a band called Pigface, and I met him. I don't remember his name, though. They played a bar I was working in with a band called Fetus. That is the extent of my knowledge.

If you like punk, check out the Misfits, they're fanfuckintastic.
Alice in chains and tool are excellent choices as well. very deep, as is NIN.
