Okay, I'm 15 and have to get my annual physical. I haven't had it done in a couple of years. I really need to know what kind of things they check at a physical. I'm kind of scared because I don't want them to check "down there" or anything. I get really embarassed and everything. I really don't want to go. I'm not sexually active or anything. Will they have to check EVERYTHING? Please let me know what they did at your physicals when you were my age. Thanks!!!

i'm the same age as you, and my doctor didnt need to check out "down there". your doctor will ask to check your breasts, but you can refuse if you are uncomfortable, they can't make you is what my doctor said. other then that its just the usual, heart beat, breathing, mouth, ears, nose, ect. chances are they will probably want to give you the gaurdisal shot, but that is up to your parents, it is not neccasary

I don't think a pelvic exam is part of your physical if you're just 15 and not sexually active. They might press on your stomach to make sure everything feels like it's in the right spot, but my doctor didn't bring up anything more than that until I turned 18. You can always refuse; the doctor can't legally force you to have an internal exam.

I agree with ljh..
They won't do a internal pelvic exam at your age if you are not sexually active.
All i remember from getting physicals before age 18 is the doc pressing on my stomach to feel if everything seems A-ok in that area.
You will get used to it, and not be as embarassed. Doctors see so many people naked, they don't even care, it's nothing to them. Even when you have to get a pelvic exam, it lasts all of 20 seconds...i was scared at first, but it's something you really need to get done for your well being-- when you are of age.

It would help if you had a female doc. He / She might check you externally but you can ask them not too. Usually, they won't do a pelvic examination (internally), unless you are sexually active. They will ask you a lot of questions, look in your ears, eyes, throat...
sometimes, you might have to get a shot...
they take your blood pressure too...

i dont really know. i dont know if we do that in this country. i tell you what though. if they ask you to take your panties off. say no. no i am not comfortable doing that. end of story. they cant force you and at your age there is not need at all for them to check down there. they probably wont anyway. but there you go now you have the NOOOOOOOOOOO. armor! yay! it will be fine!

i've had physical's done before, and no they dont check "down there" the most they'll ask is if u have started ur menestration process. they just check normal stuff like ur weight, pulse, eye sight,ect. u'll be fine.

well when i went to my physical ,my doctor asked if i want to be checked "down there" so i think they ask you if you want that.

i think they just have to look at ur body
different doctors have different ways of doing things.
