I don't see how you couldn't. This book is awful. It's makes no sense and there is not even a trace of a story-line.

Oh sure, all the words are in alphabetical order. But it does nothing to help with the plot or the character development.

And why does it have to pause after every word and give me the definition of it ? Man! Do you think I'm illiterate or what ???!!!

I hear the sequel's going to be pretty good though: Dictionary II--The Words They Never Told You About.

Right? I was excited about it at first because someone said that I was ACTUALLY in it....next to the word gullible or something? That was like 1/3 of the way in....um....I DID NOT see my picture. Very thin story line...way too many characters (no pun intended : ) )

And it has never been on NY Times best seller list...

Thank you for this. This was the most entertaining thing I have read on Y!A in a few days! : )

That book really sucked. I think it was by a ghost writer because there was another shitty novel I read by some guy named Roget. I think the book was called "Thesaurus". They were kind of similar. But there was another book by an anonymous author called "Yellow Pages". At least that one had some pictures to look at. Then I found some part in there where it said "Moore, Roger" and then it had a bunch of numbers after it.

I thought Webster did a good job writing it. He may have looked like and played a little kid on TV, but he was much older and brighter than he let on. I don't know about that dude he lived with though, something just wasn't right there.

Malcom X read the dictionary from A to Z...and he actually used it to become educated...not complain about it's context.

You are a harsh critic.

I wrote the dictionary and it took me over two weeks.

Keep in mind it was my first novel.
