Towards the moon. Its hard to miss, its a bright large round object in the sky to the south west.

You can safely look at all phases of the eclipse with the naked eye or through binoculars, a telescope or a camera. A lunar eclipse is no different from looking at the moon - which is all you are doing. A solar eclipse is another matter altogether.

look in the opposite direction of the moon. while your doing that run around in a chicken suit shooting street lights with a paintball gun and yelling "im a complete retard! im a complete retard!!!"

You should look directly above the eclipse to avoid burning out your retenas. However, looking at it for more than 10 secconds can cause permenant damage to the tissue surrounding the eye.
