He-lloooooo... People, let's not forget about:
The Count of Monte Cristo!!
(The one made in 2000 with Guy Pearce)
Also, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (subtitled)
I agree with previous suggestions of Casablanca, The Bridges of Madison County and the Notebook.
The Princess Bride is in a class all by itself- funniest love story ever told :)

A Walk to Remember - with Mandy Moore
Bridges of Madison County - with Meryl Streep & Clint Eastwood
Both of these are wonderful movies about true love and I'm not even that into those kind of movies - but these are GREAT!!

Titanic. Nothing can beat Titanic. Besides having one of the best romances ever, it's actually quite epic. So you get warm-and-fuzzy true love as well as crashing, banging action movie stuff. And of course the historical aspect (I'm rabidly addicted to the real ship.)
All the best genres in one.
It'll make you sob your brains out though. Particularly the very end. That always kills me.

Moulin Rouge
On The Line (the one featuring Lance Bass, as there's an older movie with this same name and the newer movie is not a remake of the older one)
