Homeland security has no chance against an intelligent and well-funded opponent. The number of vulnerabilities is enormous and there simply not enough money to guard against all attacks. I think that terrorists know that an attack on American soil wouild be dire because of retaliation against Middle East countries.

Nuclear power plants are only as secure and safe as the people and management that run them. I know for a fact that some major safety violations have not been reported.

I think that the neocons would love another attack as an excuse to tighten survelance, reduce freedoms, and attack and occupy another country in the Middle East.

Read some of the books from the '70s...a small group of people, if they coordinate their movements, could completely cripple the country in a matter of minutes. It would be easier to do now than then as most things are controlled by computers...
It is like the neighborhood watch thing in some towns...the best security is a nosy neighbor. Let's all be nosy...

If only the people guarding the nuclear power plants were as on the ball as the people guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier, we might be better off and safer.

Homeland security is a front to make americans feel better. I have seen them in action with the ports and that's pretty sad too.

I think that we are quite safe. We did enjoy more freedom before homeland security came to task. I don't think that they have done anything to make me feel any safer than before.
