the sensor is bad that makes the cooling fan come on,on all cars it comes on when you use the air conditioner, but the sensor that works it when the air is not on ,has gone bad, have the computer scanned on it,this will also tell you if there's any other bad sensors on it ,good luck with it.

you either have a bad coolant tempature sensor or a bad fan that car should have two fans one for the tempature of the engine and the other one to keep the condensor of the a/c from getting hot , and it only kicks on when the a/c is on, so i would check and see if both fans come on, if it is set up with a 2 fan system if not it is definitly a coolant temp sensor, but if if it is a 2 fan system check to see if the both fans come on when the a/c is on not just one. if there is only one fan coming... on when the a/c is on then a fan motor is bad if they both come on i would say it is the sensor....but if they both come on.. then find the sensor and make sure it is bad and not just a bad connection another words make sure it is connected properly and no corrosion... and for the other problem of the a/c cycling to much, it is doing that because it is low on freon you should have it checked.....that should fix you up have a good day...

Visually inspect all surfaces behind the AC Pulleys and clutching mechanism. If you see any light colored aluminum specs is a sign the compressor or clutch is about to take a dump. I've heard them many times engage and disengage. This intermittant cycling can cause the poor little electric fan relay go nuts.

dodge man is probably correct about the sensor, but as far as the a/c is concerned that could be a second problem.if it still cycles too much after the fan problem gets fixed have the a/c evacuated and recharged.it probably doesn't have enough freon in it.good luck...
