I need to go to the army and no one will marry me.I have 4 kids their father will take care of them but i need to give up custody how do i go about that in the state of ohio

You do NOT have to give up custody. You do however have to establish guardianship! Draw up a paper stating the children will be in his care from (give dates) that he has legal rights in all aspects of their care, schooling and medical. Have a notary sign it and send him child support.

I see a lot of critizisim over a mother who is in the army and needs to appoint guardian ship of her children. Everyone is ASSuming that her and the children's father were never married, maybe they were but marriages don't always work out. There are many perks to joining the army, her children will have access to almost free medical care. I wonder if those critizising have ever had to PAY for a doctor's visit for a child, or innoculations, or an emergency room visit, how about a hospital bill? So she IS providing for her children. She also get's a paycheck...rather than standing in a welfare line, she also pays INTO the system as far as taxes, again she is not in a welfare line, getting food stamps etc. On top of that she has access to quality education via the GI Bill, can go to school while in the Army and when she gets out will get out with not only an honorable discharge but a degree as well so she will be employable and can continue to provide for her family, rather than standing in line at the welfare office. On top of defending YOUR right to critizise her for being in the Army!
For the young woman, I suggest you go to your Commander and aks him/her how to go about appointing guardianship of your children, I don't think you have to give up custody. You will of course have to pay child support but that's it. I commend you for trying to make a decent life for you and your family whether other's here do or not.

Well I don't see why giving up custody, can their dad take temporary custody while your serving your country? but if you want to give him custody anyways you simply write and noticed a letter that said just that your giving your ex sole custody of his children, and the both of you can go to a lawyer and then have this filled in court, just hope that your ex don't take this filled and legal paper on you and sue you for child support later on and guess what he would have all the rights to get child support.. think about that.. good luck.

TO THE PERSON WHO ASKED THE QUESTION: When did you sign up for the military? WHY do you "need" to go to the army? Some details are needed here in order to properly answer the question.
First, (and this is the MOST important) you have to drop all your decency and morals. Those children need you more than the army.

go to court and establish custody with their father. you will be required to pay child support. the army will NOT look kindly on you if you do not pay child support. and no judge will authorize your parental rights to be stripped unless there is another parent to take your place.

Division of youth and family services,better yet apply for a hardshi dischrge, family first. You put your kids with strangers and they WILL be abused

Get an attorney! Don't give up custody of your children! There are lots of arrangements that can be made without giving up custody. Please consult an attorney!!
