In New Moon, they go to Italy for the end of the book and that's all the traveling there is. Not a good traveling book at all, though it IS a good book, as well as Twilight. In Eragon by Christopher Paolini there is traveling, and they go all over the country of Alagaesia where the story takes place. But it's fantasy, sooo. I think Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien has traveling, judging from the movies. I'm planning on actually reading the books later this year.... In Artemis Fowl, by Eoin Colfer, which is a series with six or seven books and a fantasy/science fiction, they travel to all over the place. And on planet Earth, too, not some made up place, haha. The Blood Red Horse by K.M. Grant has traveling; it's a historical fiction that takes place during the Crusades, so there's a lot of action, too. This is also part of a trilogy. In a lot of Gail Carson Levine books, there's traveling, though her stuff is both fantasy and children's books, but maybe you like her; you weren't entirely specific so I'm doing best as I can. The Singer of All Songs by Kate Constable is another fantasy with traveling, and is also part of a series; a trilogy, I think. The Storm Thief (science fiction) and Poison (fantasy), both by Chris Wooding have traveling and are not related books, they're separate and have no sequels or anything.

I think that's all I have. I'm sorry if you don't like fantasy, it's really most of what I read. I hope I've helped, though.

Tim Dorsey's Segre A. Storms books are a travelogue of Florida. Serge is a psychopath who just loves everything about Florida. "Cadillac Beach" is an excellent story mixing incredible trivia about Miami; a 40-year-old mystery; an escape from the mental hospital; plenty of killing, and letters to the President, "The Wall Street Journal," & the "Today" show.

Warning these books are not for the faint of heart. They contain lots of drug use, profanity, and violence. If that isn't enough for you, there is a little bit of sex thrown in too.

What kind of traveling are you looking for?

You could go with...

Cunningham's THE HOURS for travel within a city setting;

Melville's MOBY DICK or Virginia Woolf's THE VOYAGE OUT for ocean travel;

Twain's ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN for river travel;

Laurie J. Marks' WATER LOGIC for time travel in a fantasy world;

Richard Adams' WATERSHIP DOWN for rabbit travel (from home, to find a new site for a warren!);

Johanna Spyri's "children's classic" HEIDI, for travel through the Swiss countryside, and between "country" and "city" settings;

Ellen Kushner's THOMAS THE RHYMER for travel between the human world and the world of faerie;

Hurston's THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD for an African American woman's travels from (and eventual return to) her home;

Hemingway's THE GREEN HILLS OF AFRICA for a recreation of Hemingway and his wife's 1933 safari in the big-game country of East Africa;

J.M. Barrie's PETER PAN for travel via fairy dust;

or, of course, C.S. Lewis' THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE (for travel via large, free-standing coat closet.)

Hope you find something you like! :)
