Yes, Your plants would like coffee grounds. It adds vitamins & minerals to the soil, keeps away slugs & snails, & (when mixed into the soil) is a good environment for earthworm activity.
It's good for acid-loving plants. I lightly sprinkle the grounds around the base of these plants to deter slugs, also. You can scratch it into the soil so it doesn't compact when it has accumulated. It also helps the soil retain moisture. It should be OK to sprinkle it on your grass...if you do a light sprinkling-not so much that it suffocates it.
A lab test analysis showed that: "the grounds provide generous amounts of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and copper.
They also release nitrogen into the soil as they degrade."

Encircling your plants with coffee grounds & eggshells makes a barrier to repel pests, & works as a slow release fertilizer. If you are into vermi-posting, feed a little bit to your worms
The grounds are acidic so mix a tablespoon of garden lime into a five pound bag before you dig them into your garden or put them on the compost pile. In the garden, mix at a rate of five pounds per three square feet. For composting, mix at a ratio of five pounds per three cubic feet of yard waste.

You should compost them first. I use vermicomposting (using worms) to do the trick. A worm can work through it's weight in coffee grounds in about a day. Their castings are great for plants.

Good idea but you will need to compost.Compost bins are sold over the net or you can build one from pallets from stores. You will need at least 4 of them.Add all of your coffee grounds, veggie peels, anything other than fat and meat etc.I would not add coffee grounds to a plant until it composts ( cooks).

I use coffee grinds, egg shells for all my veggie plants. They love them. I even put it around my rose bushes.
Egg shells prevent little critters from eating your plant.
As far as the lawn, I can't see it hurting it. Though, I have not tried it.

I have heard they do.. but it is just basically a 'Mulch' !
Ime sure it wouldn't hurt them.. but there are more 'attractive mulches' available.. Try Moss or something that looks more attractive.. or 'Coffee Grounds.. with some Fish tank Gravel on top.. that might look OK..

Yes, Ray, the coffee grounds keep the soil from compacting..the loose soil is something the worms really like...go for it!
