how would i figure this out??! please help me !!

(1) + (2) yields:
x^2 -3x -4 = 0, thus x = -1 and x = 4. Put them into (2), we get:
y^2 = -3, and y^2 = 12.
the first one does not have real solutions and the second one yields: y = +-2*sqrt(3).
Hence the intersections are:
(4, 2*sqrt(3)) and (4, - 2*sqrt(3)).
