I live in PA, and someone i know is envloved in a drug case and its been 11 weeks and the evidence still isnt back, is this usual? How long does the DA and crime lab have to get it back before the case can be dropped?

well when do they have to have to report on the evidence back? yes they need some kind of evidence to proceed in a drug case, or else there is no proof that any existied, so even if its just a report, and no 18 months is wrong b.c. this persons lawyer said if it is not back in 1 year from the date he was arrested the case must be dropped, so 18 months is deffently wrong, but i'v also heard only 6 months

The DA doesn't have to have the evidence AT ALL to proceed. I'd imagine they have evidence besides the lab report. 11 weeks is not a long time. It takes as long as 18 months in some jurisdictions.
