Yes. If it smells spoiled I don't eat it. If it just smells different than what I'm used to, I ask someone what it is and is it supposed to smell like that? If they say yes, I will take a VERY small bite. If it tastes as bad as it smells, I scrape it in the garbage!

This is sooo funny!
My sons tease me about this, I don't smell my food before I eat it, I smell it while eating. I have a terrible habit of exhaling through my nose while I chew. It seems to enhance the taste. I try not to do it too often.

We all do, especially hot food because the steam carries aroma molecules which drift into our nostrils. Infact, the smell of the food goes a long way to the taste of the food.
