how many cories for a 29 gallon?

i have a 29 gallon tank with 12 tiger barbs, how many cory catfish can i put in there too?

also i have a 5 gallon with just a betta and a snail, and my snail ate all my plants except for my amazon sword plant. the plant looks nice and green but i think it made 2 or 3 small plants with roots and all off of it. can i move it to my 29 gallon? theres baby snails on the plants and i dont really want a snail infestation in my 29 gallon. any way of gettin them off? and will the regular flourescant tube that came with my tank be okay for the sword plants?

To solve the snail infestation you can move the plants and get some bengal or zebra loaches insted of cory catfish. Just get 2 - 3 bengal loaches or 3 - 4 zebra loaches. They will eat any snails that transfer into your 29 gal tank.

I would suggest 3-4, I have 1 albino catfish in my 10 gallon tank and it does fine. Also try putting some ghost shrimp in there because they do a great job of cleaning up. If you dont want the snails in there, then just pluck them off.

forget the 1 inch per gallon rule, it's BS

you could get about 4-6 cory cats for your tank

and yes you can move your plant in the other tank, and yes the lightning will be enough if you have it on for 10-12 hours during the day and turn it off for 12-14 hours at night

But you should also put another plant in your 5 gallon tank then

Anubis are very hardy as example and grow to be very bushy
