Do you think that perhaps some sort of personality test or evaluative interview would be better than age at determining things like:

Who can get a drivers liscence?
Who can vote?
Who can legally consent to sex?
Who can buy legally buy alcohol/tobacco?
Who can see R rated movies or adult videos?
and so on...

Or do you think an age limit for these things is the best policy?

because i watch Rated R movies all the time hell they come on T.V they don't seem to be effecting me in any way shape or form...
people need to realize that there are teenagers (or kids) out here who can deal with a lot of Stuff, i played and beat GTA:San Andreas did i go out side and shoot up everyone? NO!

I'm not freaking stupid enough to pull that garbage

but with the tobacco thing i really don't care about that.

Considering the vast number of people and the subjectiveness of such a test, that is near impossible. The age limit works because with age comes wisdom. Even stupid people learn from their mistakes as they experience more and more of the world. They will still exist though, and they will continue to make people such as yourself question the acceptability of such an age system.

Subjective testing though, would most likely lead to or at least seem like discrimination. Which our politicians would most likely want to avoid right now.
