I found this spider on my stairs in England and can't work out what it is, it is larger than any normal spider I have seen in the house. I know the pictures aren't great but hope they can help.

It looks like a common Wolf spider to me.

Here in Virginia (that rogue colony) we call them orb spiders. They build very cool looking webs with a zig zag pattern at the center.

It looks quite a lot like a male araneomorph funnel-web spider.

adult male Tegenaria of some kind. Maybe T. gigantea(?); I think that's coexistant with T. domestica (House Spider) in Europe.

its a wolf spider. i have them all over where i live (outside) once and a while one sneeks in and i just catch it and let it go outside.
