There's in insane version of "House of the Rising Sun" that Muse does. Muse also has a cover of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good" on their album Origin of Symmetry.

Elliott Smith has great Beatles covers, check out "Revolution" or "For No One".

So you like Oasis? Have you heard their version of "I Am The Walrus"?

There's an album benefiting Amnesty International called Instant Karma that is a bunch of artists covering John Lennon songs. Most are pretty good.

There's a pretty sweet version of the Arctic Monkeys covering "You Know I'm No Good" by Amy Winehouse. Also, check out Lily Allen covering the Kaiser Chiefs ("Oh My God") on Mark Ronson's album.

If you like Radiohead, there's a music blog called Stereogum that put up an album for free download on their website that is a bunch of indie artists covering songs from Ok Computer.

David Bowie covering "I'm Waiting for the Man" by the Velvet Underground.

I'll add more if I think of them. Hope this helps!
