Um.. I think it's like
Fortunato took my arm and put on a black silk mask. Drawing a roquelaure (what's that? from context it sounds like a jacket) around me, i asked him to hurry me up to the palazzo.

I wonder if you're reading the Three Musketeers or something in that era.
"As he spoke, Fortunato took my arm; and I put on a black silk mask and pulled a short cape tight around me as I let him hurry me to the town square."

do no longer understand why they chosen "a broken coronary heart", yet while some thing is asserted to be "broken" it merely capacity that it is not working right, like a watch mounted that doesn't tell precise time -forgetting for a 2d the situation of no remember if time is illusory=). the situation is that as quickly as people have not got a greater helpful be conscious, they use the nearest available & if somebody had got here across a greater helpful be conscious the language could have been tailored to it (bruised merely does not seem to seize the severity of the wear and tear strongly sufficient).

So saying, Fortunado grabbed my arm, and putting on a black silk mask, and drawing a hooded cloak around me, I let him drag me to the palazzo.

Its saying that Fortunado, after putting on a black silk mask and takes Montresor's arm, hurried him to his palazzo. And Montresor, pretended that Fortunado had to drag him along.
