that perhaps has stayed together longer than they should have? This is sort of the opposite of all those questions about reunions you would like to see. A group I like a lot, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, gets my vote. These guys are turning into the industrial music version of Spinal Tap. Check this out.

Looks like the Stones are going to be the consensus favorite. Still, Mick seems to be holding up better at his age than Groovie, not to mention he is giving up at least 15 or so years.

Too funny! I just watched that about 3 nights ago and found myself wondering "Is that Michael Madsen?" - yeah, I have to agree that the TKK may want to consider hanging up their industrial spurs.
The only band I can think of that's starting to wear thin is U2 - don't get me wrong, they are a great band but their starting to feel like the house guest that wouldn't leave.

I honestly can't think of one just yet but the idea of groups like INXS or the Doors trying to re-group without the obvious missing member seems somewhat blasphemous--for lack of a better word to describe it. I know that Ian Astbury of The Cult filled in Morrison's shoes, which is probably better than anyone else filling in ... and ok - it's almost eerily uncanny how he nailed his voice

But something didn't seem right about it .. hmm
I'm sure I'll think of some groups who have remained together too long ... good question... but I absolutely disagree with everyone that is saying the Rolling Stones is one - they're out of their minds if they can't be grateful that a legendary group is still intact to play some classics ...
Oh yeah, and Groovie Man looks and sounds like crap...thanks for sharing that ... that was depressing

I hate to give a cliche answer, but the Rolling Stones are #1. How many decades has it been since they put out a NEW song that was worth a flip? R.E.M. has also lost it, I think they put out 1 good song every 5 years. Finally, Pearl Jam needs to call it a day. They did some fantastic stuff in the early 90's, but their last 4 or 5 albums have been downhill towards a snooze-fest.

The Rolling Stones - should have quit after Emotional Rescue.
Aerosmith - They should have split after Pump.
Kiss - Should have split after Peter Criss left the band.
Metallica - still trying to be angry young men even though they're all middle aged. It just doesn't work!
Depeche Mode -should have called it quits after Ultra.
The Cure - they've become the Greatful Dead of goth.

guns 'n' Roses were once seen as legends and revolutionary figures in musuc. now because they tried to convince people that Chinese Democracy was coming out. Theyre now a laughing stock. But Think about iron Maiden, Alice Cooper... Theyre shits still amazing.

That would have to be the Rolling Stones. I wasn't much of a fan when they weren't all wrinkled up.
