it pisses me off how people hate bands when they changes there sound, i mean if u were a band wouldn't you get tierd of making the same album over and over again. People hate Aiden now because they're new album is softer then there last few. The same thing happend to Avenged Sevenfold when they stopped screming. i was just on Atreyu's myspace and you can preview there new album thats coming out tommorow and people are leaving comments saying they hate them now. the same thing happend to My Chem and FOB, i mean u dont have to like thier new stuff but you dont have to hate the band either.

A lot of us like the older stuff. For one examble I'll use KoRn. The first album was great. The second album, ok. The rest I can't stand. Though do I hate KoRn? No. They just seems to try to be too artsy with their songs now.

Another example, Limp Bizkit. I bought their first album on the day it was released. Loved it, except one song. I'm sure you can guess that song. Sure it was kinda funny, and was intended as a joke. But for some reason, all the pop fans loved it and only wanted to hear that one song. Limp Bizkit listened to what the majority wanted, and turned into a pop band.

Is what they did wrong? No. They choose the way they can make the most money. But it did leave me one less group to listen to, well besided that first album. Some people see this as the bands not caring about them, so they hate the bands. But in reality, if it was them instead, they would prolly do the same. If they had to choose between a little bit of money to please a few fans compared to a lot of money to please a lot of other fans that is.

"a great band is one that progresses with each of their albums. they must mature. "
Sure, but who defines what progress is? The artists? The record labels? The fans?

I love NASCAR but I question some of their recent choices. I hate the mystery cautions at just the right time to save someone or close up the field at the finish. I have no problem with a caution if they can actually find the cause of it. I really think they worked so hard at attracting new fans that they are pissing off the old fans. New fans will come and go and usually aren't as dedicated. Putting races in locations where they aren't big fans just cause they have a big track while taking away great tracks because they don't have 150k seats. My suggestions - Dump a Cali race and bring back Rockingham or a new track like that. - No more cuttie cutter tracks. Be original its what makes some of the best tracks some of the best. - Make sure to spread out the types of tracks. 4 plate races, 2 road courses, 14 short tracks, 16 intermediate (some of those 1.5 mile quad ovals will need to go) - Put a road course in the Chase. Use the same % as you have above so they are all represented fairly. You want to be a champ you should be good at every type of race NASCAR runs. - No cautions unless you can see it.

I've never hated a band for changing, because all of the band's I like have changed into something different but great. Like you said, a band has to grow and mature or else they will get stale. I don't particularly like any of the bands you've listed, but I can guess that maybe some of the fans jump on the bandwagon because they like the sort of "hardcore" essence to those bands, and then when they start to drift towards more popp-ier sounds, the fans flip out because the cool, hardcore, band they once liked is now soft and mainstream. It probably doesn't have to do anything with the actual music, which in my opinion, from those bands, is not very good (no offense! really, I'm not trying to be a jerk). That's the way I feel about it.

It's basically because all of the bands sold out, and bought into the pop-music trend.

I can see where you're coming from, but I have to say I was pretty upset when I started seeing fall out boy on mtv.

Nowadays, i'm more open-minded to change, and not to say that i hate the bands now...but i'll have to admit that i'll miss old FOB and A7X.

People like the band as they are and just don't like it at times if someone else comes in or leaves. If something changes with Panic! At The Disco I might get upset because I love the guys as they are.

i can see it from both point of views. as a band you don't want to make the same thing twice..its pointless and you don't get better and you don't grow musically and creatively.

as a fan...you like them because of the way their music is. when they change..you kinda get pissed because they changed something that was the reason you love them so much anyway.

personally i'd like a band to find a nice median with both.

For me it depends on the band but i didnt stop liking Aiden because they changed. I saw wiL on Fuse and he said that he didnt want old fans to think of them as sell outs they just wanted to try something new. i just hate it when bands start going on mtv and they start sounding bad and becoming sell outs.

People hate change because they fell in love with the oringinal, so why would they like the new one? I mean they didn't fall in love with Aiden because they're Aiden, they fell in love with their music, so if it changes (for the worse) why would they love them anymore? In most cases, it's based on music, not just the band.

of course if a band changes not all of their old fans are going to like it, but hopefully people who didn't like them before will like them now. i hate all of Underoath's music from before Dallas left and Spencer took over lead vocals. they weren't even on my radar then, but they are one of my favorite bands now. i'm sure people there are people who didn't like Aiden before who will start to like them now.

a lot of bands who used to have screaming in their music don't anymore. it was the trend of the moment about 2 years ago, and even pop-punk bands were throwing in some screaming (ex. My Heart by Paramore). now it's been used so much that it's not interesting anymore. it's becoming so that only metalcore bands scream. bands like Hawthorne Heights, Aiden, Matchbook Romance, Saosin, etc. have all either cut it back or cut it out entirely.
