Basically, it depends on which baby situation. For example, when there are complications, there's a higher hospital bill; or, when more supplies are needed, the WIC program is useful, if you qualify; and, if you're thinking as far ahead as education, then, the answer may change drastically.
It's best to take advantage of every benefit available whether through work, governmental programs, and useful advice from other parents (e.g., parents-and-me classes).
In addition, it can be argued that time is money. Time may become extremely difficult to manage. Be shameless and flexible when seeking help to allow you to focus on managing expenses and keeping costs organized through sleep deprived eyes.

I’ve always been worried about the money situation. I felt my body was ready but financially we couldn’t. I told my mum and she said if you think like that you will never have a baby. So, now I’m 14 weeks. I still think about it but not so much. Also the way the world is going it scares me to bring a baby into it. But i cant wait to have a family of my own.

i will be a momma in three weeks and in no way would I consider myself economically ready, but as a mom I know you just some how make it work. The fear of the unknown is very very scary, especially when you arent ready "financially" but, in the end im sure its all worth it.

Not even close... He's 24 now and a university grad. It took time but we got there.
Getting there is the adventure.
Now # 2 is due in December and I'm ready this time but probably not as excited(for lac of a better word)

No.I was 16 when I had my first, but I still graduated high school and went to college.I just had my 5th baby a month ago!To be honest with you you never feel financially ready everything just seems to work out if you just take it one day at a time.especially if you love kids.

It depends on what your definition of financially ready means.
Both finish college, very little debt, house payment and 2 reliable cars! Savings of $20K

Nope. And we were stupid, too. When I lost my job, I was eligible for all kinds of help, but NOooo, my husband said, "We can't get help, we're white". Mom was livid when she found out later and tried to help me with the credit card debt after my divorce. (He got the 20,000 credit card, I got the 2,500 one. He agreed to use my lawyer. HA. About the only time I ever got the best of him, too.)

as I was told and now believe it with my second son, you will never be financially ready for a baby because you will have to change your financial priorities no matter how much money you have.
