Probably not. Sorry you bike was stolen. That sucks!
This is totally different but once I had my laptop plugged in to the wall and a power surge burned my laptop. I told the apartments and they said they are not responsible.
I guess you can ask around but I highly doubt they will do anything.
Did you have good insurance? If so they can help.
Good luck .

I totally feel you. My boyfriends bike just got stolen today!!! And we live in a gated apartment, but that doesnt matter seeing that most thefts and break-ins occur during the DAY.. when the gate stays wide open so that most people that dont even live here can just drive up in here and steal ****.
I dont know what our landlord is gonna say but from what i hear they dont give a **** about what goes on as far as crime at the apt. He used to roll it inside the apartment when he wasnt using it (until we got that warning letter...!) I dont know what he/they are going to do. the police don't care either. Yes they do make alarms, heavy chains for a bike (so u cant roll it, or lift it into a truck). If u have good insurance they might pay back for it... my bf said if anything ever happened to his bike they would pay him close to what its worth. In big cities this is VERY common... especially at apartments. It doesnt even matter if yopu are in a "good area". I live in a so-called "good area" and there's been a break-in at the complex.. in broad daylight. And now look, my boyfriend's bike is gone.. he only went to an afternoon class just to come back to find out that its GONE. I dont trust anybody here...

Buy Lojack on your next bike. And chain it down with casehardened chains and monster locks. It is always your insurance that is going to pay off your losses not the apartment complex. Call your insurance company right away.

NOPE. It states in your lease contract that the Apartment complex and it's owners are not liable for any of your property which get's stolen, it's your sole responsibility for it, not there's.
They put up gates and fence to deture crime, not stop it all together.

Report the theft to the police, first off.
And read the section of your contract with the apartment on the parking lot, if it says that you park at your own risk, then you have no case.
Just report it to the police and let them take care of it.
