what are the bird and the bees?

It's a way parent's tell their kids about sex. I don;t remeber what the birds were, but it had to do with bees pollenating flowers and pollen is plant sperm so it had to do with fertlilization and all.

Ive always wondered this...such random choice in animals it seems and ive never heard the analogy where it coems from

Maybe bees pollenate plants like men impregnate and bird's eggs hatch like women giving birth
